August 21, 20:00 - J. S. Bach. The Music of Eternity

Cathedral on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street

Address: 27/13 Malaya Gruzinskaya Street

Concert of the Foundation "Art of Good"

Nowadays, if the soprano sings Bach’s arias, this is quite natural. However in the 18th century women were not admitted to Church singing. The great composer was one of the first fighters for their musical rights and insisted that his wife who had a beautiful voice should sing a part in a cantata.

The program includes the best fragments of Bach’s cantatas accompanied on the organ and his organ compositions.
