August 14, 20:00 - Music from Italy, Spain, and Latin America. Guitar, voice, organ

St. Andrew's Anglican Cathedral

Moscow, Voznesensky Lane, 8/5s3

“There is a land where people breathe not oxygen, but passion,” is what is often said about the sunny Mediterranean coast, the land of music and light. Inspired by its amazing culture, the program will combine a wide variety of compositions, from baroque sophistication to the fiery rhythms of the 20th century. You will hear music filled with the southern sun, the breath of the streets, and the silence of the cathedrals.

Our journey will begin in Italy, where we will explore the works of early and central Baroque composers, including a vibrant and temperamental concerto by Vivaldi arranged for guitar and organ, as well as the vocal masterpieces of Caccini and Monteverdi.

The Spanish theme will be brought to life through the famous "Dance of the Miller" from Manuel de Falla's ballet, a piece of music filled with dancefire and rhythmic freedom.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the unique culture of these sunny countries, where music captivates the soul, evokes dreams, and leaves you in awe.
